OptecNet Deutschland e.V. hat seinen Verbandssitz nach Berlin verlegt. Mit dem neuen Standort möchte der Dachverband näher an den politischen Entscheidungsprozessen sein und den Dialog mit Bundespolitik, Ministerien und weiteren Akteuren intensivieren. Ziel ist es, die Interessen der Photonik- und Quantentechnologiebranche noch wirkungsvoller einzubringen und gute Rahmenbedingungen für Innovationen und wirtschaftliches Wachstum mitzugestalten.

Der Vorstand – Dr. Andreas Ehrhardt (Geschäftsführer Photonics BW e.V.), Dr. Adrian Mahlkow (Geschäftsführer OpTecBB e.V.) und Nora Kirsten (Geschäftsführerin OptoNet e.V.) – freut sich darauf, die Verbandsarbeit von Berlin aus gemeinsam weiterzuentwickeln und neue Impulse für die Branche zu setzen.
OptecNet Deutschland vernetzt Unternehmen, Forschungseinrichtungen und weitere Akteure der Photonik. Der Verband fördert den Technologietransfer, unterstützt Innovationen, engagiert sich für die Fachkräftegewinnung und begleitet insbesondere kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) auf ihrem Weg in internationale Märkte. Gleichzeitig setzt sich OptecNet Deutschland für innovations- und wirtschaftsfreundliche politische Rahmenbedingungen ein.
Ein besonderes Highlight gibt es in diesem Jahr außerdem zu feiern: OptecNet Deutschland blickt auf 25 Jahre erfolgreiche Verbandsarbeit zurück. Der gemeinnützige Dachverband wurde 2001 mit Unterstützung des damaligen Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) gegründet, um die regionalen Kompetenznetze der Optischen Technologien zu bündeln und zu stärken.
Heute vereint OptecNet Deutschland acht regionale Innovationsnetze aus den Bereichen Photonik und Quantentechnologien mit rund 600 Mitgliedern aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft. Damit ist der Verband der größte Zusammenschluss der Photonikbranche in Deutschland und eine starke Stimme für Innovation, Zusammenarbeit und Technologietransfer.

OptecNet Germany has relocated its headquarters to Berlin. With its new location, the association aims to be closer to federal policymakers and strengthen its dialogue with ministries and other key stakeholders. The goal is to represent the interests of the photonics and quantum technologies community more effectively and help shape innovation-friendly and competitive framework conditions.

OptecNet Germany connects companies, research institutions and other stakeholders across the photonics sector. The association promotes technology transfer, supports innovation, contributes to attracting and developing skilled talent, and helps companies – particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – expand into international markets. At the same time, it advocates for political and economic framework conditions that foster innovation and competitiveness.
This year also marks a special milestone: the 25th anniversary of OptecNet Germany. The non-profit umbrella organization was founded in 2001 with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to bring together and strengthen Germany's regional photonics competence networks.
Today, OptecNet Germany brings together eight regional innovation networks in photonics and quantum technologies, representing around 600 member organizations from industry and academia. With this strong network, OptecNet Germany is the largest photonics association in Germany and a leading platform for collaboration, innovation and technology transfer.
