The EPIC Technology Meeting on Photonics for Quantum Technologies started with an inspiring first day dedicated to networking, exchange and showcasing the vibrant photonics ecosystem in Berlin Adlershof.
Ahead of the technical programme hosted by Fraunhofer HHI, OpTecBB had the pleasure of welcoming the international delegation to Berlin Adlershof Science and Technology Park, one of Europe’s leading locations for photonics and quantum technologies.
Participants gained exclusive insights during visits to several renowned research institutes and companies, including the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut (FBH), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, art photonics GmbH, Nomad Atomics and EYONEX Glass. The visits provided a unique opportunity to experience cutting-edge research, state-of-the-art laboratories and innovative technologies first-hand.
The programme also included a lunch break at LEAP, where attendees enjoyed presentations from AQLS, PreciLaser and Quasi, highlighting recent developments and business opportunities in the fields of photonics and quantum technologies.
The day concluded with an evening networking event at Bar Brass, offering participants the opportunity to continue discussions in a relaxed atmosphere while strengthening existing and establishing new collaborations.
The first day perfectly demonstrated the strength and diversity of the photonics ecosystem in Berlin-Brandenburg, The combination of excellent research institutions, innovative companies and open exchange created an outstanding environment for collaboration and future technological developments.
