Poland is the most important export partner for photonics in the capital region, accounting for almost 20% of total exports. A delegation trip to Poznań in the field of photonics is therefore highly worthwhile. The city is home to a dynamic and rapidly growing Polish photonics community, offers close proximity to German innovation clusters such as Berlin-Adlershof, and provides excellent opportunities for cooperation. In addition, Poland offers access to many young talents as well as new markets and funding programs for joint projects, particularly within the framework of EU initiatives.
During this year’s delegation trip, our visit will be mostly centered at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCNS/PCSS), which operates a high-performance system ranked 96th in the TOP500 list, making it a true powerhouse for advanced computing and research. PSNC also leads the EuroHPC quantum computer initiative, marking a milestone in building a European quantum computing infrastructure, being the first EuroHPC acquired E.U. quantum computer. This is also the first EuroHPC infrastructure located in Poland, with leading EU companies as hardware/software providers.
At the same time, PSNC leads Polish secure quantum communication initiatives, involved in 5 EuroQCI (E.U. Quantum Communication Infrastructure) initiatives for cross-borders, including a landmark project towards Germany along the Warsaw-Poznan-Berlin Link, with several Berlin partners. Furthermore, it also features a relevant AI FACTORY initiative.
A pitching event will provide participants from both countries, included invited parties Poland-wide with the opportunity to present their technologies and explore potential collaborations. The program includes a visit to GL Optic, a leading Polish company specializing in optical measurement solutions.
We advice to register as soon as possible, as there is limited availability to this delegation.
